BORN 1955, town of Yelizovo, Osipovichi District, Mogilev Oblast.

EDUCATION Kuibyshev Belarusian State Institute of National Economy, 1978; Academy of Public Administration under the Council of Ministers of the BSSR, 1993.

CAREER Senior engineer at the Main Computing Department of the Central Statistics Bureau of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic (BSSR CSB); senior and leading economist of the CSB Industry Statistics Department, assistant director of the BSSR CSB, and assistant director of the BSSR State Statistics Committee, 1981-1986. Deputy head of the Statistics Department of Minsk Oblast, deputy head of the Minsk Oblast Department for Statistics, 1986-1989. In the Council of Ministers: senior officer at the economic analysis and planning sector of the Economy Division, leading specialist of the Economy Division, leading specialist of the Department for Economy and Foreign Relations, leading specialist of the Economy Department, main specialist of the sector for forecasting and analysis of the social and economic development of the Economy Department of the Administration of the Council of Ministers, 1989–1992. First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics and Analysis of the Republic of Belarus, First Deputy Statistics and Analysis Minister of the Republic of Belarus, 1992–1998. From December 1998 Statistics and Analysis Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Chairman of the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Belarus from October 2008.

Appointed Economy Minister of the Republic of Belarus in December 2014.
