Belarus and Romania have good opportunities to develop full cooperation, Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu said at a function held on 9 November to mark 25 years of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Romania, BelTA informs.
“We share the views that we have good prospects to deepen diplomatic contacts, cooperation in various economic sectors, especially in bilateral trade, and inter-parliamentary contacts,” said Teodor Melescanu.
Speaking about the development of cooperation in art, the diplomat stressed that many Belarusian and Romanian cultural establishments developed close cooperation long time ago. “Needless to say about the benefits our cooperation brings in this sector. It helps strengthen ties between our people who share the same values,” the minister said.
Teodor Melescanu also invited Belarus to use the advantages of the multilateral and bilateral projects of the Eastern Partnership within the European Neighborhood Policy. “It is especially important given Romania's presidency of the Council of the European Union in H1 2019,” he added.
