Minsk to host FrancoVision Song Contest

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – The French Embassy will organize the FrancoVision contest of French language songs in Minsk on 22 October, the diplomatic mission told BelTA.

The event will be held in the run-up to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 that will bring together best singers at Minsk Arena. A young French singer will take part in the prestigious contest. The French Embassy has decided to engage Belarusian francophones to support the French representative. “Belarus' best young singers will compete to become the best performer of French songs. The contest that will be held in Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth will be dedicated to the memory of Charles Aznavour,” the embassy said.

Three winners of the FrancoVision Song Contest will be chosen by the jury composed of Belarusian singers and a representative of French jury of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and in the presence of the French participant. “It is highly likely that France 2 TV channel will make a report about the event to be broadcast on the French television,” the embassy noted.
