China is celebrating the Lunar New Year. According to Chinese astrology, 2016 is the Year of the Red Fire Monkey. The year of the Green Wood Sheep or Goat ended on 7 February 2016. The Red Fire Monkey promises a happy life to those who will get married this year. 2016 is also believed to be favorable for giving birth.
Chinese Spring Festival, or the Chinese New Year, symbolizes family unity. The celebrations will last for almost half of a month. The gifts are often presented in even number for the meaning of in couple and in pairs. Kids usually receive coins in red envelopes believed to bring happiness.
