Belarus joined the European Mobility Week and Car-Free Day on 22 September. The European Mobility Week is an annual campaign to present sustainable mobility alternatives to citizens towards creating a more sustainable transport strategy for Europe.
Under the decision of the Minsk City Hall, Lenin Street (from Nezavisimosti Avenue to Kirov Street) was shut off for street car-free festivities.
Minsk residents and guests were invited to take part in a bike ride in the evening.
