Some 1,500 people gathered at Brest Hero Fortress to take part in a solemn event to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Brest Fortress Memory Watch on 27 March.
For the young residents of Brest, the Memory Watch is a school of courage and patriotism, strong sense of civic duty, and cherishing attitude to the memory of those killed in the Great Patriotic War. Over 91,000 high school students have undergone patriotic training at the Memory Watch since its establishment.
