Zhang Gaoli: Silk Road Economic Belt initiative reflects current trends

BEIJING, 21 September (BelTA) – The Silk Road Economic Belt initiative reflects current trends and aspirations, Vice Premier of China's State Council Zhang Gaoli as he met with delegates of the 2017 Media Cooperation Forum on Belt and Road in Beijing on 21 September, BelTA has learned.

Belarus was represented at the meeting by BelTA Director General Dmitry Zhuk and Editor-in-Chief of the Respublika newspaper Vasily Matveyev.

“Many countries have realized numerous benefits from the participation in the Silk Road Economic Belt. China is ready to discuss projects with everyone interested in cooperation, taking into account the interests and viewpoints of our partners,” Zhang Gaoli underlined.

According to him, China considers it important to align the upcoming projects of the Belt and Road initiative with the projects and programs of the Eurasian Economic Union, various regional associations, and international organizations.

“This approach will help us achieve a proper social and economic effect. We should keep continue a dialogue, sharing positive experience and achivements. We believe that the implementation of this initiative will bring benefit in practice. It is important for peace and development. Our joint work will help us reach a crucial aim: building a community of common destiny,” Zhang Gaoli added.
