WB mission holds land registry, real estate seminar in Minsk

MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – A mission of experts of the World Bank together with land registry and real estate evaluation specialists from other international organizations hold a special seminar in Minsk on 23-27 May, BelTA learned from spokesperson for the State Property Committee Yelena Kostyukova.

“The event will focus on possible changes and the development of the cadastral evaluation system in Belarus, formation of the real estate basis and collection of information, possible changes in the taxation system. A delegation of foreign specialists is led by Lead Land Administration Specialist at The World Bank Mika-Petteri Torhonen,” Yelena Kostyukova said.

The program includes meetings and talks at the Ministry of Taxes and Duties, the National Bank, the Association of Evaluation Organization, the Notary Chamber of Belarus, the National Agency for Investment and Privatization. There will be a number of technical sessions.

“It is expected that as a result of the visit to Belarus the World Bank mission will analyze the prospects of cooperation regarding the development of the cadastral evaluation system, improvement of the real estate taxation mechanism,” the spokesperson said.

The agreement on this visit was reached in April 2016 during a live satellite linkup between the Minsk Office of the World bank and the Washington headquarters.
