Vietnam keen to import vehicles, dairy products from Belarus

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – Vietnam showed interest in importing Belarus-made vehicles and dairy products during the working visit of a Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko to Vietnam, BelTA learned from the press service of the government.

Vladimir Semashko met with Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang to discuss bilateral cooperation in all fields of mutual interest. Tran Dai Quang spoke highly of his visit to Belarus in June 2017 and stressed the importance of the agreements reached back then. In his words, Belarus and Vietnam also need to maintain the existing political and economic relations at a high level.

During his Vietnam visit, Vladimir Semashko also held talks with Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee. The sides discussed the terms of further supplies of Belarusian buses to the capital of Vietnam. Hanoi also showed interest in importing a wide range of Belarus-made vehicles, dairy products, and vehicles, and also in setting up joint ventures to make these products in Vietnam.

The visit of the Belarusian deputy prime minister to Vietnam will end on 30 March.

The Belarusian delegation comprises senior staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Industry Ministry, the Presidium of Belarus' National Academy of Sciences, the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the Justice Ministry, representatives of the country's leading industrial companies (MAZ, MTZ, BelAZ, Belshina), agricultural enterprises, and others.
