Uzbekistan curious about Belarusian nuclear power plant construction experience

MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) – Uzbekistan is interested in studying the Belarusian experience of building nuclear power plants, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Energy Ministry.

An Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Board of OAO Uzbekneftegaz Alisher Sultanov visited the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant the other day. Belarusian Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk and Director General of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant Mikhail Filimonov accompanied the delegation. The guests went to see the information center of the nuclear power plant and the social infrastructure in the nearby town of Ostrovets. They were made familiar with the operation of the education and training center and progress in the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.

Negotiations were held afterwards. The best practices acquired in the course of implementing the Belarusian nuclear energy program and building the Belarusian nuclear power plant were shared. Since the Uzbek government has decided in favor of building a nuclear power plant of their own, Belarus' experience will be useful for Uzbekistan.
