Two investment agreements worth $50m signed at international forum in Grodno

GRODNO, 23 September (BelTA) – Two investment agreements with a total worth of $50 million were signed at the plenary meeting of the international investment forum Grodno Oblast at the Crossing of Borders on 23 September, BelTA has learned.

The agreements were concluded between the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee and OOO Belagroterminal, and also the company Klubnika Plants.

Belagroterminal has been implementing a project to build a production and logistics center in Smorgon District since 2012. Under the agreement, the company will expand its activities and build a plant to extract oil from rapeseeds.

Klubnika Plants based in Shchuchin District signed an investment agreement to expand its strawberry growing project. The company was allocated a land plot. Klubnika Plants hopes to boost its production capacity, build production and storage facilities. The company will grow strawberry plants for sale across the post-Soviet space.

A cooperation agreement was signed between the Smorgon District Executive Committee and the city administration of Arzamas, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of Russia. The day before that, a delegation of Arzamas held talks in Smorgon and showed interest in implementing joint projects in machine-building and establishing ventures to make parts and components.

Grodno is hosting the international investment forum as part of the expo and fair Euroregion Neman. This year's edition of the forum showcases opportunities for doing business across the region. The program includes a business matchmaking session and presentations of investment platforms and projects in Grodno and Grodno Oblast, the free economic zone Grodnoinvest, and the tourism and recreation park Augustow Canal. Partaking in the forum are businessmen and representatives of diplomatic missions.
