Two companies to be commissioned in Belarus-China industrial park by 2018

MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) – The construction of two companies in the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone will be completed by the year-end, head of the park's administration Alexander Yaroshenko told the media on 13 September, BelTA has learned.

“The construction of Chengdu Xinzhu Silk Road Development's manufacturing facility producing supercapacitors will be over by 2018. China Merchants Group will deliver its exhibition center, storage premises, and other facilities by the year-end, too. We are now laying the foundation for other companies. Believe me, the Chinese build very fast. Two years ago there was nothing in the industrial park,” Alexander Yaroshenko said.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the joint company MAZ-Weichai took place in the park on 13 September. The Belarusian-Chinese company will produce diesel engines. It has become the park's 20th resident company. MAZ-Weichai is a flagship project for Belarus, Alexander Yaroshenko highlighted.

He also stressed that the number of resident companies had been growing rapidly thanks to Decree No. 166 on enabling favorable business conditions in the Great Stone industrial park. “We expect to register some other residents in 2017. We have signed an agreement to set up a company making artificial sapphires for industrial purposes. Some other resident companies are yet to come, among them Chinese ones,” Alexander Yaroshenko added. He mentioned the projects to manufacture unmanned aerial vehicles, LED products, and composite materials.
