Technical barriers in trade to be discussed at Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine

MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – A conference “Removing technical barriers in mutual trade by means of technical regulation. Industrial products” will be held in Gomel on 25 October on the sidelines of the 1st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Standardization Committee of Belarus.

The conference will gather over 120 specialists across various economic sectors. Representatives of the State Standardization Committee of Belarus and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and related organizations will discuss development prospects of technical regulation systems, standardization, metrology and accreditation. These are crucial instruments to ensure product safety and quality and to reduce technical barriers in trade.

The 3rd session of Belarus-Ukraine working group on technical regulation, standardization and metrology will be held on the same day. Participants will discuss cooperation prospects in these areas.

The 1st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine will take place in Gomel on 25-26 October. The program of the forum includes the 7th session of the Belarus-Ukraine business cooperation advisory board and a business matchmaking session, thematic conferences and meetings of representatives of industry-wise ministries, an interactive discussion “Cooperation prospects for Belarusian and Ukrainian regions”, a trade show of products made by Belarusian and Ukrainian companies and a friendship concert.
