Tajikistan ambassador hails progress in Belarus-Tajikistan joint economic projects

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Tajikistan and Belarus have given greater focus to joint economic projects, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus Mahmadsharif Mahmoud Hakdod said as he attended an event in Minsk to celebrate Tajikistan Independence Day on 9 September, BelTA has learned.

Mahmadsharif Mahmoud Hakdod pointed out that it is important to enhance bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, education, and culture. According to the ambassador, Belarus and Tajikistan have established effective cooperation. He believes that relationship of trust between the leaders of the two countries facilitates the development of cooperation in all areas. Mahmadsharif Mahmoud Hakdod stressed the importance of high-level agreements signed as a result of mutual visits. Belarus and Tajikistan have developed a solid legal framework that comprises over 100 documents, the ambassador said. He also pointed out that the countries have strengthened trade and economic ties and stepped up work of joint enterprises that assemble Belarusian vehicles.

According to Mahmadsharif Mahmoud Hakdod, Tajikistan and Belarus have also cultivated good relations in education, science, and culture.

The ambassador noted that Tajikistan celebrated the 28th anniversary of its independence on 9 September. During this time, Tajikistan has undertaken major reforms aimed at supporting stable political and economic development of the society.

In turn, Belarus Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Khotko noted that lately the dialogue between Belarus and Tajikistan has been intensified. The countries have launched large economic projects, joint ventures, and exchanged visits.
