Sulfate bleached pulp plant in Svetlogorsk to go online 7 November

MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – The sulfate bleached pulp plant at the Svetlogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill is to go online on 7 November, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Nikolai Snopkov said as he met with the Chinese delegation led by Xiao Yaqing, Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission at China's State Council on 1 August, BelTA has learned.

“The plant is to be commissioned on 7 November,” Nikolai Snopkov said addressing Chairman of the Board of the China National Engineering Corporation Sinomach Ren Hongbin. This company is the general contractor for the construction of the Belarusian plant. “This is the most capital-intensive projects in the credit cooperation between Belarus and China,” Nikolai Snopkov noted.

Nikolai Snopkov invited Ren Hongbin to attend the opening ceremony. Chairman of Sinomach accepted the invitation.

The sulfate bleached pulp plant is based at the Svetlogorsk Pulp and Paper Mill. After the plant reaches the full capacity production the mill will increase the volume of commodity production approximately 5 times. As a raw material the plant will use Belarusian timber and timber processing waste.
