Spartak confectionery boosts exports to China

GOMEL, 22 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian confectionery company Spartak and the Chinese retail company Nanjing Su Cang Liu International Trade based in Nanjing signed a cooperation agreement on 22 February, BelTA learned from the Belarusian company.

The agreement envisages supplies of confectionery products to a 160-million-strong market of three Chinese regions, namely Anhui Province, Jiangsu Province, and Shanghai.

A ten-tonne trial consignment is ready for dispatch. It includes more than 150 kinds of products, mainly wafers, cookies, and chocolate bars with hazelnuts, almonds, and peanuts.

Spartak already shipped 30.5 tonnes of products to China in late 2015 and in January 2016. That was mostly dark chocolate with low sugar content. The company expects its trade with this country to reach at least $2 million by year-end 2016. The factory has obtained all the necessary Chinese product quality certificates, and has developed delivery routes.

A delegation of representatives of the Chinese company Nanjing Su Cang Liu International Trade is currently on a visit to Belarus' Gomel Oblast. Last week, the guests visited a number of Belarusian dairy and meat farms and food processing enterprises. They showed interest in buying Belarus-made dairy and meat products, confectionery products, and honey.
