Slovakia views Belarus as promising partner in innovations sector

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Slovakia views Belarus as a promising and reliable partner for cooperation in the area of science and innovations, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Slovakia Rastislav Chovanec told media after the 12th meeting of the Belarusian-Slovak joint commission for trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation on 2 October, BelTA has learned.

Rastislav Chovanec named the talks with Belarusian counterparts in Minsk as successful. The parties reached a number of agreements and signed several documents. Among the most important documents he named the agreement on cooperation signed between Eximgarant of Belarus and the Eximbank of Slovakia. According to Rastislav Chovanec, projects will implemented given they are financed, and the agreement is directly aimed at addressing the financial issue.

The commission considered a number of issues at its session in Minsk. The parties discussed contacts in the industry, agriculture and tourism. “A wide range of issues shows mutual interest in cooperation and its big potential,” said the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Slovakia. According to him, there are prospects for establishing contacts in mechanical engineering, manufacturing of light civil aircraft, energy and IT.

Rastislav Chovanec thanked the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a constructive dialogue in Minsk.
