Shedko: Innovative systems will make Belarus' governance model more efficient

MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – Further implementation of innovative systems will make Belarus' governance model more efficient, First Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Belarus Dmitry Shedko told the Belarus One TV channel as he commented on the Belarus President's speech at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress, BelTA has learned.

“First of all, in order to streamline our administrative models we should pinpoint the sectors where our efforts bring the minimum effect, i.e. to get rid of paperwork and mechanical work. These must be replaced by automated systems, systems supporting managerial decisions. The international experience in this area is huge. The e-government system has been introduced in a number of countries. We are moving in this direction and are confident that we will be able to transform the administrative process in Belarus in a couple of years,” said Dmitry Shedko.

In his words, the country should do a lot within the next five years. The adoption of the appropriate technology will make the products of labor more notable. “Today IT transforms absolutely all the sphere of the economy and people's life: from industry, trade and agriculture to healthcare and education. We receive good results in the social and production sectors through experience, the understanding of the market and latest technologies that speed up all the processes, improving quality and efficiency,” the first deputy minister added.

According to Dmitry Shedko, the modern world has been rapidly developing. “Earlier technological revolution took place once in five years. Today they happen every year. In such conditions it is extremely important to keep up with the time. It pertains to education, manufacturing, economy. People should be ready to use of the new things engineers and scientists offer. In the near future we will see new forms of communication, new forms of mass media. As for the real sector, precision farming, which is a combination of satellite and information technologies, will take to the front in agriculture. Adaptive manufacturing with its 3D design process will be introduced in industry,” Dmitry Shedko said.
