Semashko: There are reasons for discussing prices for the oil Belarus buys

MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – There are reasons for discussing prices for the oil Belarus buys, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko.

“Oil prices have plummeted. There are reasons for discussing what prices Belarus has to pay. A working group has been set up, it is carrying out an analysis. It includes representatives of Lukoil, Surgutneftegas, Gazpromneft, Rosneft and naturally Belneftekhim,” said Vladimir Semashko as he commented on mass media reports that state that Belarus suggests revising the oil pricing formula to Russian suppliers.

Belarus and Russia have agreed that Belarus will get 24 million tonnes of oil in 2016 or 1 million tonnes more than in 2015. The Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus said that the entire volume will be delivered via pipelines.

Russian mass media reported earlier that the Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim suggested that the Russian companies, which supply oil to Belarus, should revise the oil pricing formula. Discounting at least another $5 per tonne is the idea.
