Oil produced in Belarus bound for export

MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – Oil produced in Belarus is exported, Belarus' Vice Premier Mikhail Rusy said as he spoke at the joint session of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on 21 December.

“We have identified major sources for replenishing the country's reserve base of hydrocarbons and increasing the oil production. These include further exploration works, the use of new technologies, increasing the oil recovery factor at the existing sites, and the development of hard to recover deposits. The oil produced in Belarus is bound for export,” Mikhail Rusy noted.

In his words, Belarus produces about 220-230 million cubic meters of associated gas annually. “Almost all the associated gas is burnt at the Belarusian gas processing plant for further uses. About 70% of the output is exported,” the Vice Premier said.
