TBILISI, 1 September (BelTA) – The economic interests of Belarus and Georgia are complementary, Belarus' Vice Premier Mikhail Rusy said at the opening of the Belarusian national exposition in Georgia on 1 September, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Rusy greeted the guests of the exhibition and participants of the business forum that will take place as part of the event. “Our companies do not overlap each other, they are complementary. The task set forth by the heads of state to the governments and you is not just to reach the trade of $200 million but set up joint companies. This means new jobs, budget revenue and good salaries for people. We must do it,” he noted.
The Vice Premier expressed gratitude to the Mayor of Tbilisi and the Georgian government for a number of trading houses of Belarus to be opened in the city in the near future. Thus, on 31 August Pinskdrev Trading House opened in Tbilisi. Five food stores are to open soon.
Mikhail Rusy stressed that the first samples of engineering products of the joint Belarusian-Georgian company are already available. “The period we had (buying cheaper, selling at a higher price) is gone. Today we should take advantage of each other's potential to produce goods and sell it to third countries,” the Vice Premier underlined.
Belarus' national exposition in Georgia opened in Tbilisi on 1 September. The exposition that will stay open through 4 September has featured products of more than 140 Belarusian companies.
