Russian food quality watchdog scraps plans to ban Belarusian dairy imports as from 15 March

MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) – The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of Russia (Rosselkhoznadzor) will not ban the import of dairy products from Belarus as from 15 March, BelTA has learned.

BelTA reported earlier that Rosselkhoznadzor postponed the introduction of a ban on milk deliveries from Belarus to 15 March. Initially the Russian agency intended to ban imports from Belarus on 26 February. The initial date was later changed to 6 March.

A Belarusian delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Rusy was in Moscow on 14 March for negotiations to resolve the situation concerning the delivery of dairy products.
