Russia lifts import restrictions from Zhlobin meat packing plant

MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Rosselkhoznadzor, Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, lifted the temporary import restrictions it imposed earlier on Belarus' Zhlobin meat packing plant, reads a statement posted on the website of Rosselkhoznadzor, BelTA has learned.

On 17 November the Russian food quality watchdog lifted the import restrictions from the import of the Belarusian company's beef and beef by-products, horsemeat and horse by-products and fat, poultry and poultry by-products, ready-made meat products from the abovementioned products.

The decision was taken after the analysis of the materials submitted by the Veterinary and Food Surveillance Department of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
