MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) - Regional Head for Business Development at UK Export Finance Vomic Shah is expected to visit Belarus on 20-22 November, BelTA learned from the UK Embassy in Belarus.
The department makes part of the UK Department for Trade and Industry and acts as an export credit agency. The agency operates in the CIS, Asia, Middle East and North Africa and has an opportunity to provide special financing on beneficial terms to companies that are interested in the import of high-technology equipment from the UK. The reason behind the visit is a high demand of Belarusian producers for innovative products in mechanical engineering, the embassy noted.
The UK official is set to hold meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Finance Ministry, the National Bank and the Economy Ministry, and also visit a number of Belarusian companies. The goal of the visit is to explore the possibilities of financial support to foreign trade operations in the future. The program of the visit will also include a meeting with leaders of the Belarusian market of mechanical engineering and processing industry.
