Record number of Belarusian experts to attend 79th IEC General Meeting

MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – A record number of Belarusian technical experts will attend the 79th General Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), Secretary of the IEC National Committee of Belarus, Director of OAO BELLIS Testing and Certification of Home Appliances and Industrial Products Yuri Pashik told journalists on 1 October, BelTA has learned.

“Partaking in the 79th IEC General Meeting will be a record number of technical experts from Belarus, more than 120 people. We expect that all our representatives will learn how the basis of the global business is formed and then will disseminate this knowledge,” Yuri Pashik noted.

He expressed hope that Belarusian businessmen will understand that they need to reach a higher level of technical development to be able to design and manufacture products that will be in demand not only on the domestic market but also abroad. “I believe that technical regulation is one of the key prerequisites for the sustainable development of our economy today,” Yuri Pashik pointed out.

Minsk will host the 79th IEC General Meeting from 5 through 16 October. The large-scale forum will gather representatives of the world's biggest companies, from engineers and medium-level managers to chief executives. The event is held in countries with well-developed hi-tech industry and in the regions that the IEC views as promising. The IEC comprises 166 countries, including Belarus.
