Polish Investment and Trade Agency intends to cooperate with Belarusian companies

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – The Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) intends to cooperate with Belarusian companies, BelTA learned from the National Marketing Center at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Belarus Artur Michalski, Director of the National Marketing Center at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Valery Sadokho and head of the PAIH Minsk Office Michal Janczuk held a working meeting during the Budpragres 2018 expo to discuss the areas of interaction and further steps to strengthen it.

Michal Janczuk said that the PAIH was ready to help Belarusian businessmen in finding contractors and promising investment projects in Poland. He also explained that the mission of the agency is to support Polish exporters in foreign markets, including the construction markets. To achieve this objective, the agency uses a variety of tools: from information support on the markets of interest and assistance with the participation in exhibitions to organizing training sessions and seminars for Polish businessmen. The National Marketing Center at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs implements similar activities in Belarus. So the two organizations have plenty opportunities for cooperation.

The parties discussed the status of preparation of a draft agreement on Belarusian-Polish cooperation which is due to be signed during a meeting of the bilateral commission on trade and economic cooperation in Warsaw in late November. Ambassador Artur Michalski stressed the need for active inclusion of the business communities in the process of the preparation of the agreement. He noted that the Belarusian-Polish economic and trade relations are going through a new period of growth. “We are rediscovering the possibilities of cooperation. The fact that these warm relations are underpinned by strong economic foundation enables us to real mutual benefits from our partnership,” the polish ambassador noted.

The Polish Investment and Trade Agency attracts foreign direct investment in Poland, provides legal assistance to investors, and promotes Polish products and trademarks abroad. The Agency performs the functions of a point of contact of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Poland, the Polish-Japanese Economic Committee and the Secretariat of the Promotion Network Poland. It operates 70 offices in different countries of the world.
