PM: Belarus, Microsoft have great opportunities for cooperation

MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) - Belarus sees great opportunities for cooperation with Microsoft, Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with Evangelos Chrysafidis, CEE Government Lead at Microsoft, in Minsk on 17 May, BelTA has learned.

Andrei Kobyakov noted that Belarus has embarked on the course towards digitalization. “Relations with such a reputable company like Microsoft are very important for us. We hope to acquire additional experience. We have a very great potential for cooperation. We are ready to listen to your suggestions and exchange ideas, identify possible areas of interaction,” the Belarusian prime minister noted.

According to him, there are a number of issues in the cooperation, including those of regulatory nature, the settlement of which will make it possible to raise the relationship to a higher level.

Evangelos Chrysafidis noted the importance for Microsoft to have the opportunity to discuss the prospects for the development of cooperation with Belarus.

The meeting was also attended by Belarus' First Deputy Communications and Informatization Minister Dmitry Shedko, head of the Council of Ministers Office Alexander Turchin, Director the Hi-Tech Park Administration Vsevolod Yanchevsky, and Vladimir Bobtsov, deputy head of the transport, informatization and communication department - head of the informatization and communications department at the Council of Ministers.
