Plans to simplify tax administration in Belarus

GANTSEVICHI DISTRICT, 16 March (BelTA) – There are plans to streamline tax administration in Belarus. The proposal is being discussed as part of the comprehensive revision of the Tax Code, BelTA learned from Alexander Turchin, Chairman of the Business Promotion Council, on 16 March.

The government, representatives of ministries, the private sector, and the Business Promotion Council are working on the comprehensive revision of the Tax Code. “A considerable part of the work has been done. Certainly, one cannot say that every proposal is heartily welcomed. We run into arguments and routine discussions. Today we can change some things towards improvement and simplification. It is necessary to make the Tax Code as convenient, understandable, and comfortable for the private sector as possible while keeping its budget replenishment function intact,” explained Alexander Turchin.

The work to prepare and promote proposals of the Business Promotion Council with regard to the comprehensive revision of the Tax Code will be the central item on the agenda of the council's session on 22 March. Participants of the session are also expected to discuss the recent quirks with regular passenger transportation.

The bill on revising the Tax Code is supposed to be submitted for consideration of the Council of Ministers by 25 June.
