ASTANA, 14 August (BelTA) – There are plans to prepare a roadmap to remove restrictions in mutual trade before the next session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, BelTA learned from Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov during the expanded-participation session of the Council in Astana, Kazakhstan on 14 August.
Andrei Kobyakov said: “A universal registry of hindrances has already been compiled taking into account opinions of all the parties. We expect the [Eurasian Economic] Commission to prepare the first roadmap for 2017-2018 by the next session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The roadmap will have to clearly state that its main goal is to fully remove economically significant restrictions in mutual trade.”
Andrei Kobyakov thanked the colleagues for the support participants of the previous session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council gave to the Belarusian approach to forming the roadmaps on removing the most sensitive restrictions.
A draft agreement on pensions in the Eurasian Economic Union member states was also discussed during the session. “Work on this document may not be as fast as we would like it to be. Millions of people, whose careers include several countries of the Union, look forward to this agreement. It is an extremely sensitive matter but interests of people should be protected as much as possible while, naturally, taking into account financial capabilities of our countries,” stated the Belarusian head of government.
The agreement on pensions in the Eurasian Economic Union member states is designed to enable equal rights to pension benefits. Once the agreement comes into force, people will be able to work in any country of the Union without losing their job records and pensions while they are employed in another EAEU country.
