Permanent exhibition of Mogilev goods to open in Russia's Penza

MOGILEV, 4 October (BelTA) – A permanent exhibition of Mogilev goods will open in Russia's Penza in late October. The agreement was reached at the meeting between Mogilev First Vice Mayor Alexander Potemkin and a delegation from Penza, Russia led by Deputy Head of Administration Vladimir Popkov on 4 October, BelTA has learned.

“The current visit of our delegation to Mogilev is not just a mark of respect and friendship for the twin city of Mogilev. We have plans to develop and deepen bilateral trade and economic cooperation. One of the first steps in this direction is to open a permanent exhibition of Mogilev goods in Penza. The exhibition will display not only food products that are very popular with our residents but also industrial goods,” Vladimir Popkov told the media.

The Mogilev exposition will be housed in the exhibition center Penza Expo. “We would like to see Mogilev products in Penza on a constant basis, which, among other things, will contribute to the increase of our trade and development of cooperation,” Vladimir Popkov noted. He also mentioned Russia's interest in the import of Mogotex textile products and Mogilevliftmash lifts.

According to Alexander Potemkin, the level of existing economic cooperation between Mogilev and Penza does not match the existing potential of the two cities. “Therefore, we have outlined a number of events that will give a new impetus to our cooperation. Apart from organizing the exhibition of Mogilev goods, we plan to hold a joint business matchmaking session for the business community of Mogilev and Penza in the near future to form a near- and long-term cooperation program,” he said.

On 4 October the Russian delegation is expected to see the potential and capabilities of the Mogilev Free Economic Zone, visit a number of industrial enterprises and study the city's experience in the social sector. The Russian guests will also be taken on a tour of the regional center to see its sights.
