Over 100 companies from 18 countries taking part in Woodworking 2018 expo in Minsk

MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – Over 100 companies from 18 countries are taking part in the 25th international expo of equipment and technologies for forestry industry, woodworking industry, and furniture industry Woodworking 2018. The expo is taking place in Minsk on 25-28 September, BelTA learned from Svetlana Zvezdina, aide to the director general of the expo organizing company ZAO MinskExpo.

According to the source, companies from Austria, Italy, Germany, Russia, Slovenia, Slovakia, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey, Ukraine, Czechia and other countries are taking part in the Woodworking 2018 expo. Foreign companies represent over 50% of the participants.

Visitors can see the latest equipment used for the entire manufacturing cycle starting with wood harvesting and ending with the advanced processing of raw materials. The exhibits include woodworking tools, machining attachments, solutions for wood waste disposal, solutions for generating energy using wood fuel, energy-saving solutions, environmental protection solutions, and software.

The specialized salon Bioenergy 2018 is dedicated to technologies and equipment for making and burning various kinds of biofuel, to renewable energy sources, biomass, and bioprocesses.

A business program is part of the expo. Visitors will get special offers from participating companies, free consultations from specialists. Visitors will be able to study the advantages of machine tools in action and discuss topical industry issues. A seminar will be held on 25 September to discuss energy saving and environmental safety of woodworking enterprises. Participants of the expo will discuss resource-saving, renewable energy, the latest energy-saving materials and technologies. German participants of the expo will share their experience of getting electricity and heat from waste wood. The seminar has been organized by the association Renewable Energy.

A business forum will be held on 26 September to discuss the state and prospects of foreign trade operations of Belarusian woodworking and furniture industry companies. Participants of the forum will discuss ways to bolster the competitive ability of woodworking products, export and import problems and opportunities, manufacturing cooperation, trends on the European woodworking products market, licensing, quality norms and the certification of products on foreign markets, requirements of the European directive on trade in furniture and woodworking industry products. Representatives of woodworking industry unions of Belarus, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria will take part in the forum. The forum has been organized by the M.S. Kunyavsky Business Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers.

Apart from that, roundtable sessions and seminars will be held to discuss state and private partnership in the operation of Belarusian forestry industry enterprises, ways to more effectively use wooden materials, and measures to prevent industrial injuries. A joinery festival JETFEST will be held as part of the expo, too.

The Woodworking expo has been held every year since 1993. ZAO MinskExpo is the organizer.
