Opinion: Belarus-Turkey business cooperation has been gaining momentum

MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) – Belarus-Turkey business cooperation has been developing gradually and successfully, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich noted at the Belarusian-Turkish business forum, on 15 February, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus-Turkey business cooperation has been developing lately in a gradual and successful way. Our joint formats of support for business has been effective, just like the Belarusian-Turkish Business Council, exchange of business delegations, expert seminars and conference in the economic dimension,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

The forum brought together around 300 participants, among them 70 Turkish and almost 140 Belarusian companies. Some of them have already carried out large-scale joint projects. More than half of the participants represent SMEs that are open to innovations, investments, and cooperation, the BCCI chairman said.

“We know a number of success stories of Turkish companies with a long track record on the Belarusian market. I am confident that today's business forum will mark the beginning of new success stories, see negotiations on trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Belarusian and Turkish businessmen, and produce specific results,” Vladimir Ulakhovich noted.

The Belarusian-Turkish business forum is taking place in Minsk. Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov and his Turkish counterpart Binali Yildirim are among the participants. The program includes a plenary session and a business matchmaking event. During the forum, business representatives are set to discuss prospects for economic cooperation in the fields of mutual interest: mechanical engineering, chemical industry, textile manufacturing, wood processing, logistics, and information technologies.
