No dramatic rise in fuel prices in Belarus

MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim will remain committed to a moderate fuel pricing policy, Belneftekhim Deputy Chairman Vladimir Sizov told reporters at the international conference “Belarus' Market of Oil Products and Gas: Manufacturing, Trading, Retail” on 20 September, BelTA has learned.

“We stick to the moderate pricing policy. Everyone should understand that on the one hand, we cannot increase prices dramatically due to social factors, as the price for oil products has an impact on the prime cost of goods and the cost of transportation services. Therefore, we are mostly guided by external factors and their impact on prices,” Vladimir Sizov noted.

Other factors that have a direct impact include oil prices, the exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble, tax legislation. “The further pricing decisions will depend on these factors,” he said.
