MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – Belarus should come out of the ongoing five-year period with new technological phases and growth areas, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Science and Industry Association Georgy Grits said in an interview to the ONT TV channel as he commented on Belarus' draft social and economic development program for 2016-2020.
According to Georgy Grits, a classical procedure of achieving economic goals of the program envisages the development of new technological phases and new products with high profitability and returns. “This is the major goal for the 2016-2020 period. We should complete it with new technological phases and growth areas,” Georgy Grits believes.
The 5th Belarusian People's Congress will be held in Minsk on 22-23 June to discuss the social and economic development program of the Republic of Belarus for 2011-2015 and the major guidelines of the country's social and economic development program for 2016-2020. It is expected that the event will be attended by 2,500 people.
