MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarus' Minister of Taxes and Dues Sergei Nalivaiko reaffirmed the moratorium on new taxes and fees in Belarus in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel on 15 October, BelTA has learned.
“We are not planning to impose new taxes, fees. This is reflected in the program of social and economic development of the country for the current period, and in the set of documents to be signed by the head of state (to stimulate business activity – note by BelTA),” Sergei Nalivaiko said.
The minister also commented on the possibility of expanding the list of business operations which citizens can carry out without getting registered as self-employed businessmen, provided they still pay the single tax. According to him, decree No.337 on regulating economic affairs of natural persons takes into account all the activities that should be undertaken based on the declaratory principle. Over time it can be supplemented.
Sergei Nalivaiko recalled that when the declaratory principle was imposed, the list included not more than 10 activities. “Today we have 30 business operations that may be carried out to the declaratory principle. To say what business operations will be included in the medium term is a fortune-telling. Let us wait and see,” the minister said.
On 19 September 2017 the Belarus president signed decree No.337 on regulating economic affairs of natural persons. The decree lists business operations, which citizens can carry out without getting registered as self-employed businessmen.
