Moldova to assemble more Belarusian equipment

MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Moldova plans to expand the lineup of the Belarusian equipment assembled in the country, Moldova Prime Minister Pavel Filip said in an interview on the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

Minsk and Chisinau plan to boost trade and develop cooperation ties. Moldova assembles Belarusian tractors and uses trolleybuses of Belkommunmash manufacture. Setting up a plant to assemble buses is viewed as one of the promising areas.

“We are mulling over the expansion of the lineup. This project is very profitable for us, with its quality and affordability,” said Pavel Filip.

In his words, Moldova views Belarus as an equal and reliable partner. In 2014 Chisinau ratified the European Union Association Agreement. Russia closed its market for Moldova goods, while Belarus left its doors open. “We appreciate it,” said the Moldovan head of government.

“We enjoy good close relations. I believe the political dialogue between our countries is at an excellent level. If we work, we have results. If there are good relations and a political will, there will be a result. We need to implement all our plans,” noted Pavel Filip.

The Belarusian-Moldovan cooperation will be discussed in Minsk on 6-7 June during a visit of Moldova's government delegation. Pavel Filip is expected to visit industrial companies and the Hi-Tech Park.
