Minsk Oblast, Russia's Vologda Oblast to sign cooperation agreement during Forum of Regions

MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) – Plans have been made to sign an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation between the Minsk Oblast administration and the government of Russia's Vologda Oblast during the third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from representatives of the Foreign Economic Ties Office of the Economy Committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

During the forum Minsk Oblast companies intend to sign contracts to sell poultry industry products, light industry and mechanical engineering industry products on the Russian market.

For example, the Soligorsk poultry factory intends to sign a contract to sell egg processing products to Russia. The choice includes smoke-cured and marinated chicken eggs, smoke-cured and marinated quail eggs, and egg sausages.

The Soligorsk-based manufacturer of underwear and knitted apparel for children and adults OAO Kupalinka intends to sign a contract for the delivery of a wide range of knitted wear. The DEM Smolevichi branch of the utility vehicles manufacturing company OOO Dorelektromash intends to export snow removers to Russia. The Belarusian-Swiss company Stadler Minsk has a number of proposals to make to Russian partners during the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.

Plans have been made to sign contracts during the panel session on advancing trade and economic ties between regions of Belarus and Russia as an important factor for ensuring the food security of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Representatives of the Minsk Oblast administration believe that the new contracts will positively influence trade between Belarus and Russia and between individual regions of the countries in addition to bolstering mutually beneficial cooperation. The source pointed out that a large number of products the Minsk Oblast companies intend to sign contracts for have a high added value.

The third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is scheduled to take place in Minsk on 7-8 June. The forum is meant to broaden Belarusian-Russian regional cooperation and facilitate the establishment of direct contacts between regions, companies, and organizations of the two countries in social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, humanitarian spheres and other ones.
