Minsk constructors ready for projects of any complexity in Russia's Kursk Oblast

MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Minsk constructors are ready to carry out projects of any complexity in Russia's Kursk Oblast, First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Hall Fyodor Rimashevsky noted as he met with Kursk Oblast Governor Alexander Mikhailov on 5 December, BelTA informs.

“Minsk is ready to offer construction services to Kursk Oblast. Our specialists are working in Russia and perform pretty well. This refers to housing construction, in particular. We have started building social facilities, for instance, schools in Oryol Oblast and Vladimir Oblast. We are ready to carry out construction projects of any complexity,” Fyodor Rimashevsky underlined.

He also remarked that another focus in Minsk-Kursk Oblast cooperation can be put on the supplies of Belkommunmash products to the region (electric buses, in the first place).

The sides pointed to the effective development of bilateral relations, which is proved by the positive dynamics of trade ($20 million in January-September 2017, up 20% from the same period of 2016).

Belarus and Kursk Oblast signed a cooperation agreement 15 years ago, Kursk Oblast Governor Alexander Mikhailov recalled. Now the goal is to strengthen cooperation with Belarusian regions and different government bodies. “This year, our trade will reach from $140 million to $150 million. There is every reason to believe that we will virtually reach the 2014 level, when the trade stood at $250 million. Every effort is made to achieve this goal,” the governor stressed.

According to him, during the current visit to Belarus the Russian delegation attaches great attention to the ways of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation. The Russian delegation includes more than 30 executives of companies operating in agriculture, construction, industry. Alexander Mikhailov noted that Belarus has participated in Kursk Korenskaya Fair for more than 10 years.

Minsk and the Russian region have clearly outlined the points for further cooperation in construction, manufacturing, agriculture, Belarus' Minister of Communication and Informatization Sergei Popkov, who is in charge of promotion of Belarus' national interests in Kursk Oblast, told the media.

Following today's meeting, Minsk and Russia's Kursk Oblast signed an agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science and humanitarian matters. The document was signed by Fyodor Rimashevsky and Alexander Mikhailov. The parties signed several other documents including the cooperation agreement between the Belarusian State Academy of Communication and Southwest State University, the cooperation agreement between the Center for International Relations at the Education Ministry of Belarus and Kursk State University. Dyatlovo District of Grodno Oblast and Oboyan District of Kursk Oblast inked an agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science and humanitarian matters.
