Minsk airport passenger numbers up 27% in H1 2017

MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – Passenger traffic via Minsk National Airport rose by 26.9% in January-June 2017 from the same period last year, BelTA learned from the website of the airport.

In June 2017 Minsk Airport handled 425,200 passengers, an increase of 22.2%. Since the start of the year, the number of airport users has exceeded 1,079,000 people, up 26.9% on last year. In June 2017 the airport serviced 2,323 flights, which was up by 7.3% over June 2016. From the start of the year the airport serviced a total of 11,454 flights (up 9.3%).

Minsk National Airport is Belarus' first international airport that has been certified for compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport is home to the national air carrier Belavia as well as cargo carriers Transaviaexport, Rubystar, and Genex. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
