Measures in development to accelerate Belarusian economy growth

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – The government and the central bank are working on a plan of systemic measures designed to accelerate the growth of the Belarusian economy, BelTA learned from Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas during the introductory reading of the budget bill in the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament on 5 November.

Sergei Rumas said: “In line with the head of state's decision the government together with the central bank will soon adopt a plan of systemic measures to enable conditions for faster growth of the Belarusian economy.”

According to the prime minister, the measures the plan stipulates are aimed at raising the effectiveness of state-run organizations, developing small and medium businesses, stimulating the inflow of investments, and tapping into unused reserves of economic growth.

“These measures are supposed to be implemented in 2020. They are primarily medium-term ones. They will enable conditions necessary for sustainable, balanced, and dynamic growth in the forthcoming five-year period,” the head of government added.
