MOGILEV, 11 October (BelTA) – Oversight agencies in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states should stop fighting each other. Otherwise, their squabbles open the market to import, BelTA learned from Member of the Board (Minister) for Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Viktor Nazarenko on the sidelines of the fifth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Mogilev on 11 October.
According to the source, the oversight agencies are now too busy fighting turf wars with each other, fighting for the right to say who can and who cannot sell milk or some other kind of merchandise. Meanwhile, imports penetrate the market virtually without any problems.
“They have an entire paperwork edifice in place. Documents can be acquired anywhere and in any form. Fighting each other, the oversight agencies of all the countries show off their strong shoulders and stop each other while paving the way to import. The market is totally open,” noted Viktor Nazarenko.
In his words, the situation gives solid reasons for concern and represents a threat to economic security of the Eurasian Economic Union member states.
