Kazakhstan-Belarus agreement on levying indirect taxes in trade terminated

ASTANA, 30 October (BelTA-Kazinform) – The senate of Kazakhstan ratified a protocol to terminate the agreement between Kazakhstan and Belarus on the principles of levying indirect taxes in the export and import of goods (works) of 2 February 1999.

“There is a similar agreement in the Customs Union today. Since the agreement in the Customs Union covers all principles of levying indirect taxes in the export and import of goods (works) envisaged in the bilateral agreement, the Finance Ministries of Kazakhstan and Belarus signed a protocol on terminating the bilateral agreement on 8 November 2011,” Finance Minister of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov said.

In his words, on 14 August 2012 Belarus informed the other side on the implementation of its domestic procedures necessary for the protocol to come into effect.
