Iran shows interest in Belarusian beef

MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) – Iran is showing interest in the import of Belarusian beef, Belarus' Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo said at the 4th All-Belarusian Forum of Livestock Producers, BelTA has learned.

“We discussed beef supplies to Iran with representatives of the Iranian veterinary service, deputy ministers. They are interested in it,” Igor Brylo said.

In his words, at present many companies are busy with certifying their products with a view to their active advancement to the markets of the Middle East, Asia and the European Union. “The diversification of trade and economic ties with different countries and regions, with simultaneous strengthening of positions on the traditional markets, will secure a sustainable growth of the export potential. This is a priority goal for our country. The potential of our export to the Asian region is high. These markets are very promising,” the deputy minister said.

Minsk is hosting the 4th All-Belarusian Forum of Livestock Producers on 13 October. Speaking at the forum will be specialists from Belarus, Belgium, Germany, Israel, Austria, Russia and other countries. The major issues on the agenda include diagnostics, preventive measures, and treatment in cattle-breeding. A specialized exhibition held as part of the forum features different organizations of the sector.
