Inflation within forecast through 2016, Belarus' central bank says

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) - The National Bank is confident that the inflation will stay within the forecast horizon before the end of the year, Chairman of the Board of Belarus' National Bank Pavel Kallaur told media on 19 October, BelTA has learned.

“We are confident that the inflation will stay within the forecast of 12% by the end of the year,” said Pavel Kallaur.

According to him, in making the projections for next year the National Bank took many factors into account. “Macroeconomic balance is at the core, of course. Other factors include the rate of inflation and devaluation expectations that are based on trust in politics. Of course, we took into consideration possible increases in regulated prices for utility services,” Pavel Kallaur said.

Minsk is hosting the 13th international forum of banking information technology BankIT'2016 on 19-21 October. The event usually gathers more than 1,300 banking and IT experts, government bodies and consulting specialists. Experts will discuss the development of banking information technologies, digital banking, and information security. The foresight session will highlight the planning of the future market of payment in Belarus. More than 100 speakers from nine countries are expected to make speeches.
