Hungary considering production of Belarusian tractors

MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – Hungary is looking into an opportunity to set up a plant to produce Belarusian tractors, Hungary's Ambassador to Belarus Zsolt Csutora told the media, BelTA has learned.

“I would like Hungary to launch the production of Belarusian tractors,” the ambassador said.

Zsolt Csutora believes that Belarus and Hungary have established good relations not only in the political sector but also in the humanitarian and economic areas. The diplomat is convinced that the establishment of cultural ties can prompt the development of economic cooperation. “In December 2018 I would like to see Hungarian artists performing in Belarus,” he said.

Zsolt Csutora sees it as promising to increase mutual supplies of goods and develop cooperation in energy and IT.

At the ceremony to receive the credentials of new ambassadors on 25 September Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko noted that Belarus and Hungary had established an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect. “We value your country's support in abolishing sanctions against Belarus. We remember this very well. I think it is high time we increased the level of bilateral contacts,” the president said. In his words, Belarus is ready for this.

A representative office of the Minsk Tractor Works operates in Hungary, BelTA learned from the company's website. MTZ products have been sold in the country since 1958. MTZ tractors account for almost 60% of tractors imported to Hungary annually.
