High hope for Belneftekhim's participation in forum of Belarusian, Russian regions

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – Enterprises run by the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim intend to sign over RUB4.2 billion worth of sale contracts during the fourth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, the Belneftekhim press service told BelTA.

The Belarusian petrochemical industry delegation at the forum will be led by Belneftekhim Chairman Igor Lyashenko. Belneftekhim enterprises intend to sign contracts for selling polyester fiber and polyethylenterephtalate (Mogilevkhimvolokno), siliceous materials and various fiberglass cloths (Polotsk-Steklovolokno). Mogilevkhimvolokno is expected to sign the largest contract on record — some RUB1.5 billion — for the delivery of polyester fiber to the Saint Petersburg-based company Avangard.

New and innovative products made by petrochemical enterprises will be showcased at Belneftekhim's stand as part of the expo, which will be held during the Forum of Regions. The products on display will include nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizers made by Gomel Chemical Plant, lubricating-cooling fluids made by Belwax, new high-performance tires for cars, trucks, and agricultural machines by Belshina, composite materials and cord fabrics by Grodno Azot's synthetic fiber division, polyester threads and carbon materials by SvetlogorskKhimvolokno as well as other products, which are sold to 112 countries.

Carbon-carbon composites based on hydrocellulose, which have been developed as part of the relevant R&D program of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and are now manufactured by SvetlogorskKhimvolokno, will be showcased as well.

Russia is the largest foreign partner of Belneftekhim. In 2016 Belneftekhim's trade with Russian companies exceeded $5.5 billion. Following the relevant instructions of the government Belneftekhim is in charge of advancing Belarus' cooperation with Bashkortostan and Tatarstan, which are some of the largest and most industrially developed regions of Russia.

The fourth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is scheduled to take place in Moscow on 29-30 June.
