Groundbreaking ceremony for new Belarusian-Chinese harvester factory in China's Hebei Province

MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – A groundbreaking ceremony for building a new factory that will make corn, grain, and rape harvesters took place in Weixian, Handan Prefecture, Hebei Province on 16 March. The factory will make harvesters as part of the Belarusian-Chinese joint venture Chongqing Zongshen-Gomel Agricultural Machine Manufacture Company, representatives of the Embassy of Belarus in Beijing told BelTA.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy spoke during the groundbreaking ceremony. He mentioned the project to build the harvester factory was an important one. Taking part in the ceremony were also representatives of the Hebei Province administration, the administration of the city of Handan and Hebei Province, Chairman of the Board of Zongshen Corporation Zuo Zongshen.

The first few contracts were signed to sell harvesters of Belarusian-Chinese make to farming companies in Hebei Province and Heilongjiang Province.
