KLIMOVICHI, 17 September (BelTA) – The construction of a Turkey breeding and meat-packing enterprise in Klimovichi District, Mogilev Oblast is supposed to begin in October. Vydas Gedvilas said: “This investment project is being implemented in Mogilev Oblast thanks to support of the Belarus president as well as the proactive attitude of the municipal government agencies. Its success will depend on all of us, including the contribution of Klimovichi District residents, who will work at the new enterprise. Our company has a long record of making turkey meat. We are confident that our joint efforts will produce good results.”

Vladimir Domanevsky

In turn, Mogilev Oblast Governor Vladimir Domanevsky noted that good neighborly relations of Mogilev Oblast with Lithuanian regions advance rapidly. “There is a number of successfully operating enterprises with Lithuanian capital in Mogilev Oblast. The implementation of yet another major investment project will make our friendly relations stronger and will give a new impulse to the economic development of the southeastern region and Klimovichi District,” he stressed.

Honorary guests took part in the ceremony to place the time capsule with a message to future generations.

The implementation of the investment project in Klimovichi District began when Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko instructed the Mogilev Oblast administration to discuss the organization of meat production with ARVI Company. The instruction was issued as the head of state visited Lida District in 2017.

The project provides for launching the full-cycle production of turkey meat by late 2020 starting with breeding the turkeys and ending with advanced meat processing. The output capacity can go as high as 10,000 tonnes per annum and may be raised to 15,000 tonnes later on. The minimal investment will be close to €48 million. About 200 jobs will be created.

The turkey breeding and processing enterprise will be made up of about 30 farms, a waste storage facility, and a meat-packing plant with its own slaughterhouse and processing wing. The project will be implemented by the company OOO Klimarvi registered in Klimovichi. The design specifications and estimates are going through the expert evaluation process.

According to Vydas Gedvilas, a similar facility works well in Lida District. “We feel support at the local level and the desire to develop territories. This is why we intend to actively develop existing enterprises and create new ones. The meat products the enterprise in Klimovichi District will make will be sold on the home market and exported to neighboring countries, the European Union,” he said.
