Gomel Oblast to ship first lot of beef to China in early 2017

GOMEL, 1 April (BelTA) – Gomel Oblast will ship the first lot of beef to China in early 2017, the press service of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.

The document on supplying meat products was signed with Jiangsu Overseas Group Corporation when a delegation of the Gomel Oblast administration visited China. After all the necessary checks are over and all the customs formalities are done with, the first lot of beef will be delivered to Chinese consumers in early 2017, BelTA has been told.

Chinese partners were also interested in a number of dairy products made by Gomel Oblast. The regional food industry enterprise Gomeloblpishcheprom and the managing company of Gomel Meat and Dairy Company signed documents with Nanjing Ju Cang Jiu International Trade Company to stipulate their intent to export several kinds of dairy products to China.

The key point in the itinerary of the one-week visit of the Gomel Oblast delegation to China was negotiations between Gomel Oblast Governor Vladimir Dvornik and Jiangsu Province Governor Shi Taifeng. As a result of the talks the Gomel Oblast administration and the Jiangsu Province administration signed an agreement on the joint participation in the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

The Gomel branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Jiangsu Province branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade signed a protocol of cooperation. The Sport and Tourism Office of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and Nanjing Ju Cang Jiu International Trade Company signed an agreement on stepping up the export of Belarusian tourism services.

At the end of the visit the Nanjing University of Science and Technology and the Francisk Skorina Gomel State University signed an agreement on creating the Gomel Oblast Sinology Institute named after Confucius.
