Full spending for Belarus-Russia union budget within two years

MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – As much as 100% of the budget of the Union State of Belarus and Russia will be spent in the next year or two, BelTA learned from Deputy State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Aleksei Kubrin on 19 June.

The Union State Council of Ministers is expected to deliver a report on the execution of the Union State budget during the Supreme State Council session, which is due in Minsk today. Possibilities regarding how the budget will be spent in the future will be discussed, said the official.

Aleksei Kubrin drew attention to the fact that the current financial reserve for the Union State programs and projects scheduled for the next two years will be exhausted. “It means that virtually 100% of the Union State money will be spent within the next year or two. While the matter of a certain surplus was raised periodically up till now, we will no longer have such a surplus in the future,” stressed the official.

According to the source, Union State development priorities will be discussed during the Supreme State Council session. Aleksei Kubrin said it was possible that the matter of science development in Belarus and Russia might be raised as well as the development of digital technologies because both countries pay close attention to these fields.
